The Rhenus Group took over the Spanish company, LTK, on 27 January. The integrated supply chain specialist not only has its headquarters in Madrid, but warehouse capacity at three other business sites in Spain. Its main business activities involve providing logistics solutions for the aerospace and automotive sectors.

LTK, which was founded in 2002, now has business sites in the Spanish capital, at Álava in the Basque region and at two locations in Andalusia, Seville and Cádiz. Overall, it has more than 26,000 square metres of warehouse capacity available. Its customers include the Airbus Group and Alestis Aerospace.

In addition to warehousing, LTK handles supply chain management, procurement, returns and replacement part logistics, conducting quality checks as well as industrial handling and aircraft ground handling. The logistics specialist performs more than 110,000 technical checks for its customers every year, for example. LTK in Cádiz and Seville have been supplying the production sites of Airbus since 2004. The logistics warehouses there handle more than 1 million incoming and outgoing movements of goods per annum.

“LTK’s warehouse sites will form the basis for the further expansion of Rhenus Warehousing Solutions in Spain in future. Working together, we hope to tap into growth opportunities in the Spanish aerospace sector. We can also launch operations in the European aeronautics market through the newly acquired expertise and the support of LTK,” says Andreas Plikat, Managing Director of Rhenus Warehousing Solutions Europe.

The LTK business sites are certified according to EN 9120, a standard for traders and warehouse operators in the aviation, space travel and defence sectors, and according to ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO/IEC 27001 (Information Security) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
