The GDP guidelines regulate the distribution of pharmaceuticals from the manufacturer to the patient and describe the minimum requirements that must be met to ensure that the quality and integrity of pharmaceuticals is guaranteed throughout the supply chain.
GDP compliance includes that:
• Pharmaceuticals are approved in the supply chain in accordance with European Union (EU) legislation.
• Pharmaceuticals must always be stored under the correct conditions, including during transport.
• Contamination by or from other products is avoided.
• There is enough trade in stored pharmaceuticals.
• The right products reach the right addressee within a given period.
